uPVC/Patio Door Lock Multipoint Mechanism Replacement

CIA is a specialist in the supply and replacement of multipoint locks for double-glazed uPVC (PVCu) and composite doors and windows. If a replacement is required and we do not have it within our own extensive stock then we can usually source and quickly obtain direct from the manufacturer.

Alternatively it is often possible to replace the lock with a universal replacement which will often upgrade and improve the security over and above that of the original.

Many of the original locking mechanisms fitted when uPVC first became prevalent are of low security and will not prevent a forced entry by a burglar armed with just a few basic tools, these should be upgraded immediately.

It was also common practice to fit low quality cylinders that gave poor security to operate these locking systems.

These often have no anti-drill or anti-pick protection and are therefore vulnerable to these forms of attack, additionally a new method of attack has become prevalent whereby the cylinder is snapped and removed allowing the lock mechanism to be manipulated.

Incorrectly sized cylinders when fitted will further reduce the security provided.

To prevent forced entry by snapping a cylinder CIA recommends the use of a Mul-T-Lock 'Break Secure' Cylinder.  This has been specially designed and tested to ensure it prevents forced entry via the cylinder snapping method of entry.
