Monitored Wireless Burglar Alarms with Police Response

We offer two monitoring options:

1. Keyholder Notification Only (unlimited number of keyholders/unlimited notification attempts)
2. Police Response with Keyholder Notification (keyholder notification is a mandatory requirement of ACPO with this service)

Monitoring with Keyholder Notification

The basic wireless burglar alarm package with no additional devices and keyholder notification only costs £19.99 including VAT per month.  This charge is for both monitoring and maintenance and we will arrange to collect this as a direct debit.  Each additional device will add 25 pence to the yearly monitoring and maintenance charge.

The maintenance includes an annual system examination by a qualified engineer, where all of the peripherals, including detection devices, sounders, communication equipment and battery levels will be fully tested.

Batteries and alarm components will be replaced where necessary and all costs are covered within the maintenance agreement.

Unique Reference Numbers

The Police Authority will not attend a property following an alarm activation, unless the property has a Unique Reference Number (URN).  This is an ACPO (the Association of Chief Police Officers of England Wales and Northern Ireland) requirement.

Without the URN, the Police will not respond to an alert from an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre), a keyholder or any other member of the public (unless they have witnessed the incident first hand).

Monitoring with Police Response

If you require a Level 1 Police response (in addition to a Keyholder notification), there is an additional monitoring and maintenance charge of £5.00 including VAT per month.

The extra monitoring and maintenance charge is due to the additional administration the ARC must manage, and also a 2nd maintenance visit as systems that receive a Police response must have 2 annual examinations, in line with the ACPO policy on Police Response to Security Systems (April 2006).

For customers who require a Police response, there is also a once-off additional charge of approximately £50 for your URN.  You will need to pay this charge directly to your local Police Authority.  A self-actuating sounder is also required to comply with the ACPO policy.
