Door Entry Systems

Door entry systems are effective and easy to use.  Choose from a simple pushbutton keypad, an audio entry system or a video entry system.  This page gives an overview of the various types and their benefits.

Audio Door Entry Systems

An audio door entry system is a simple form of access control, enabling residents to identify visitors before they open the door. The entrance panel will normally be mounted next to the secured door.

There is a labeled call button (which is illuminated, when dark) and when the call button is operated, the resident's internal buzzer will sound. There is 2-way speech so the resident simply has to lift the handset to talk to the visitor.  Once satisfied, the resident can press the key button to release the door lock.

Most systems these days are good looking, can be surface or flush mounted and are made of stainless steel or polished brass, or vandal resistant 12 SWG stainless steel.

Access Controller Keypads

These work on the same principle as the audio door entry system from a keypad which is normally positioned next to the secured door.  Like the audio system, they are easy to use but unlike the audio system, they are more flexible.  They also have a confirmation sounder which verifies button operation and, once the visitor has been authorised, continues to operate for the duration of the programmed door release time.

Audio Entry for Public Buildings

Ideal for small offices, the audio entry system offers two way speech with remote release facility.  As well as being able to call more than one handset within the premises, the occupants can release the door remotely via the built-in release button.

Audio System with Code Access

Audio systems with code access offers the additional benefit of being able to store up to 50 different codes at any one time and includes advanced in-built diagnostics.  The code facility is ideal for controlling key-less access to premises, and the ability to change codes quickly at will offers greater flexibility over conventional key systems.

Video Door Entry Systems

For ultimate control, a video door entry system with code access enables you to see who is at the door as well as speak to them.

It is capable of storing up to 50 different codes at any one time and includes advanced in-built diagnostics.

TFT or flat tube displays with handsets or hands-free control units, from single station units suitable for shared apartment buildings or flats to more sophisticated commercial access control systems which can be integrated with fire intruder and CCTV systems or even a BMS (Building Management System), CIA are fully conversant with the latest technology.
